Cellular Amplifiers and Repeaters boost wireless signal to cell phones and PC's providing significantly better reception at home, in the office, or in a vehicle. If you live or travel in a poor reception area, you can understand the frustration of dropped calls. Cellular amplifiers drastically improve wireless phone signal quality in rural or remote areas where terrain or distance from a cell tower affect signal, as well as urban locations where building material such as concrete, metal, or reflective glass can block or distort signal. With a stronger signal, you acquire better voice signal quality for clearer conversation, better data signal quality for faster internet, and longer battery life since your phone believes it's closer to a cell tower than it actually is.
How do the cellular amplifiers work?
An outside antenna is placed in an area with the best signal. It receives the weak cellular signal and sends it to the amplifier. The amplifier boosts the signal and sends it to your inside antenna which then sends this stronger signal to your phone or data cards. Then on transmission, the phone or data card sends out a signal that is received by the inside antenna. It is then boosted by the amplifier to the outside antenna sending a stronger, more reliable signal to the cellular tower. For this reason, for a wireless antenna to work, you must have a usable signal present within 50 feet of your building. If you don't have adequate signal to support a wireless amplifier you should consider a direct connect amplifier instead.
